    For some period of time I have been unable to access my Xbox Live/Microsoft account. Despite my having my login information, access to my 2FA app, the Microsoft authentication app, and access to the email the account is registered to I am unable to reset the password. Unfortunately the screenshots I have will not render as I attempt to upload them, so instead the steps I went through via the password reset process are described below:

    And this is where I am at now. Despite every attempt and multiple attempts over the course of weeks the service has consistently demonstrated a "temporary problem" and I do not know what steps I can take. I have tried multiple browsers, cleared caches, cookies, different computers, and have been unable to change my password. I even submitted an account recovery form but due to my 2FA I am unable to still reset my password.

    Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

    The problem is that the password is unknown so when I enter the account, Microsoft states it cant be found? how can you reset a password when the account cant be found. Therefore, I would like to reset the account email address.

    My son keeps getting a glitch error when he tries to accept the new terms of service.

    So far no joy. He can't sign in on the console nor on the net.

    I did try to reset the password and it says there is a temporary problem with the service, I guess I'll keep trying.

    Also, for an unknown reason the email addy has changed on the Xbox by just one letter, although not when I sign into the account on the web. He has no idea how to change that and nor do I. Any clues?

    Appreciate the help so far. :)

    That Windows Live help site does not have a forum section. I went through the Customer service steps but I keep getting this message.

    "There's a temporary problem

    There's a temporary problem with the service. Please try again. If you continue to get this message, try again later. "

    Can't the support send a password reset to my other email? I can prove it is me by saying some of my recent pre-paid card codes. I only have one Xbox 360 and have never signed in on another persons Xbox 360. So it all just disappeared, someone must have
    hacked me. Still, there has been no activity on the account since the last time I signed on.

    My old Xbox might have been registered but I dont know how to check that.

    I think the frustrating part is that I can get a password reset via my back up email on the account but when I reset the password the new password isn't recognized.

    Minecraft error 0x80004005

    Filling the form does reset my password, but my problem is not fixed. when I try to log in with my account, it still asks me for a backup email or phone number. If I type my backup email or phone number into the minecraft launcher, the window just disappears and my account is not logged in. In addition, I just tried to add my backup email/phone from microsoft, but when I'm at account.microsoft.com, clicking the profile picture at top right corner, going into "my microsoft account" and try to add security details, it still shows the error message below.

    which translates to "A temporary problem occurs. There is a temporary problem with the service. please try again. If you continue to receive this message, please try again later."

    Now I have to solve this issue, instead of resetting my account password.
