How can I redeem an Xbox Gold pass and switch back to regular XBOX Gold.

Hello, Thanks for posting on Microsoft forums have you already cancelled your Xbox live ultimate before you tried to redeem your Xbox live gold subscription??

You would need to either cancel your current subscription or wait for it to end before adding the Gold. Your Ultimate has to completely end in order for the Gold to not convert.

so from my understanding If I got purchased 3 years of xbox live gold,say even if I purchased these via 3rd party online seller which sells xbox gold cards and then redeemed these cards via my xbox one giving me years of gold then went and subbed to xbox
game pass ultimate for the 31 offer it'll give me 3 years of game pass ultimate subscribtion?.If I remove my card details afterwards I sub to game pass it wont lose the game pass after a month and go back down to regular xbox live gold membership for the rest
of the 3 years?..

You need a Gold subscription to play online. Gold is included with Game Pass Ultimate. Since you switched to regular Game Pass, you no longer have Gold. You would either need to buy a separate Gold subscription or resubscribe to Game Pass Ultimate.

If you currently have Game Pass Ultimate and attempt to redeem a 12 month Xbox Live Gold code, it will convert to a 3 or 4 month Ultimate subscription. If you want to continue with just Gold for 12 months and not Ultimate, you would have to wait for the
Ultimate to expire before redeeming the regular Gold code.

If you don't currently have Ultimate, then you should have no problem redeeming the 12 months of Gold.
