How can I play songs I previously paid for in Rock Band? (on same Xbox 360)

Several years ago I purchased about $500 worth of songs for Rock Band during the timeframe of RB1 thru RB3 (& RBN). Then I put my Xbox 360 in storage for about 6 years. During that time my kids have gotten old enough to play and I have been recently exposing them to RB3 on that same Xbox 360. However I am unable to play any of the songs I paid for years ago, as I can't seem to login to Xbox Live (which I've heard doesn't even really exist anymore). I've tried multiple times now to get back into the Xbox Live acct, but Microsoft says I am not providing enough info to "unlock it", despite even including the "Console ID" of my Xbox 360 (that still has all the songs on it). I no longer have access to the e-mail that the Xbox Live acct was tied to. How can I recover my Xbox Live acct (or whatever it's called now) and/or more importantly play all those songs I did pay for and should still have access to? They are still listed in the menu of RB3, but error out when I try to play them...

Sean, you must bear in mind that the content you claim to have purchased is associated with the account, not the device, therefore the licenses indicated you can only use them if you recover the account, it is not enough just to have them on the console.

You should try to recover the account using the recovery form, as this is the only means available to Microsoft https://account.live.com/acsr

Once the account is recovered you will get the licenses for which you paid.

When you say "search for songs I know I have", do you mean songs you have owned previously on other Rock Band games, or songs that you have already installed and played on Rock Band 4?

I have a Xbox 360 and downloaded Rock band 3 a long time ago . Nowadays Rock band only sell songs and I can’t download but I paid for download and I think this game isn’t available anymore

When you purchased Rock Band 2, you paid for the rights to those songs on that disc alone. You didn't buy the songs for anything other than to be used in Rock Band 2. To import those songs to another title Harmonix has to license the songs for Rock Band
3 (it costs them money), and they charge you to give you that option.

Don't like that option, you can always put in Rock Band 2 when you want to play those songs.
