How can I play my Xbox one in a different room

I currently have a PS4 and Xbox one. I also have a PSTV that lets me play the PS4 (in basement) on a HDTV on the main floor (via my ethernet network). It works great.

Looking to do the same thing with my Xbox One. Is there possibly a similar way to do this with the Xbox One as well? As before, I can use my Ethernet network if needed. Or is there maybe a wireless solution of some kind?

Just wondering what ALL my options may be to get this to work.

How do I use my Xbox Live from my Xbox One on my Xbox 360 in a different room to set up Netflix

 

Multiple xbox ones in one house

I have an xbox one in my living room. I want to put one in my bedroom as well. I have xbox live gold.

How will this all work together? Can my son play halo mulitplayer in the living room and I play the same in the bedroom? Also all my games are downloads. Can we both play the same game at the same time?

I'm not sure if you can connect your Xbox One directly to another TV like that, but you can stream your console via the Xbox app and play that way using a computer at least.

 

Ok, I do have a spare laptop that could maybe make this work. So, I could essentially stream my Xbox one audio/video outputs to this laptop and play the same (except with a smaller screen).

Do i download the app on the xbox or the laptop? The spare laptop I ha r is probably about 4yrs old though. I think it has 4gb of RAM too. Will it work well enough for this application?

 

It will work if your have a PC/Laptop running Windows 10. It's not going to work on another TV.

Plug in a controller using the Plug and Play USB wire to the PC/Laptop and you're good.

Sounds good. My Laptop has Windows 10 so I'll give it a try and it can't hurt. I also actually have a Xbox one wired controller so assume I am covered there and simply plug it into an available USB port on laptop. I might actually like this better as it
can be more portable than the PSTV option I am using for my PS4.

Like the PSTV, I am assuming I have to be on the same network (in-home) for this app to work, correct? There is no chance of using it outside my home for remote play, correct?

 

Correct. You do have to be on the same network.

 

If his P.C. has a H.D.M.I. out, he could play on another T.V.. ;-)

 

So, I tried this on my Windows 10 laptop. While it worked, it really wasn't the experience I was hoping for. I think its mainly cause the laptop was wireless only (no LAN jack) and its probably too old and/or the processor isn't that great. Its a HP Stream
110 that has a Celeron processor and 2GB of RAM. Overall, I think this is a good idea, but probably need a better laptop.

In the meantime, I have actually looked into some solutions that would send the HDMI output of my XBOX to another TV via my wired LAN network I have throughout the house. I am investigating several adapters that might work. Will see. I also have the original
Xbox so I think the range of my wireless controllers is not that great or like the newer bluetooth enabled ones for the Xbox One X, correct? If so, I was thinking I would try to also somehow use the USB wired ones over my wired LAN network as well (w/ some
sort of adapters).

Any ideas and/or suggestions with this as well?
