How can I play Hot Wheels for PC without creating an XBOX profile?

I'm sorry but if you were able to obtain the game through Microsoft Store an Xbox profile is required, there is no option for us to disable it.

To better explain this here's some information from Xbox Support:

"The Xbox app on PC relies on two Microsoft accounts: the Microsoft Store account, and the Xbox account (your PC gaming account). The Microsoft Store account provides access to owned games, subscription benefits, and other Xbox app purchases made by that account. The Xbox account is used for game streaming access, in-game purchases, achievements, and friends."

Making an account is required no matter which store or platform you chose to purchase a game on. It’s how your purchase is recorded and your progress saved. Xbox is a platform, not just a console, and no additional expense or hardware is required.

Sony does not publish Windows drivers for their controllers, so you’ll need to take compatibility issues up with them. You can install the third-party drivers if you decide to, windows give standard warnings about unsigned code, which basically means anything purchased outside of the windows store. It’s obviously up to you whether to take the risk, but I don’t think any official ones are coming any time soon

Thanks Francia J. for replying - I was expecting since I got the download link from the Milestone website that I wouldn't need association with XBOX. And on top of that Microsoft did not advise as I was making the purchase that an XBOX profile was required. Only after I paid the money and began to run the software did the mention of XBOX come up. To further frustrate things, I want to use a PS5 controller with the Hot Wheels game and it won't recognize the controller. So $50 for a game that I was snookered in to buying that I can only play on the keyboard because the controller only works with 3rd party drivers which Windows complains about installing because they didn't come from the Microsoft store. If you have any solutions for the above mentioned problems short of buying an XBOX console (the typical Microsoft response) I would greatly appreciate it.

Hot Pursuit and games like it are fun with just a controller.

I have Forza 4 but feel like it's lame to play a sim without a wheel. Too bad the wheels can cost upwards of $500..
