    How can I play free to play games online?


    Hi. As far as I know you can play free to play games online without Xbox Live Gold with the insiders program. I've already joined it and I've updated my Xbox One X but it still asks me for Gold. How can I play free to play games online?

    Judge Bergan: You can play online now and can do it for free on PSN. I don't see how playing online is something new.

    A subscription to Xbox Live has always been needed since Live was started back in 2002, this most likely will never change, you might be accessing the game for free but your profile, stats, achievements, saves and other bits are saved on Microsoft's servers,
    you also access the game through Microsoft's servers, you can get live for really really cheap for the entire year, you then get access to all the games with gold benefits too.

    Free-to-play games can be played online for free. Other games require Game Pass Core (or Ultimate which includes Core) to play online.
