How can I link my child's xbox account to his Discord account? It’s saying the settings...

Hello Neil, in cases of child account you have to create a Family account as organizer and add the child account so that you can authorize these actions on their account.

Thanks for your reply and help workshopping this!

I really wish it were so easy! This was one of the first thing I tried and I've just jumped on and double checked those settings are all set to allow and linking discord still doesn't work. I still get an error when on the xbox and trying to link to his discord account saying a child account can't change these settings.

Please first check how many accounts or profiles are visible here, and make sure to sign in using the child account.

Once confirmed, sign in here using the Organizer's account and select your son's account. Then make sure to set the settings to Everyone/Allow.

Then, try to link his account to the Discord App and see if that will work.

His date of birth is set correctly in his Microsoft Account.

His Xbox Live "privacy and online settings" are set to Custom (not child, teen, or adult).

As for his account being a child account, I'm a little confused on that point. I am confident I created it as a child account, and accurately set his age at the time. When we go into certain games it warns that certain features will be unavailable because
of his account. However, when I go into my Miicrosoft Account and say "Manage Parental permissions" I see my daughter's account listed but my son's is not there.

What is the best way to check if his is a child account?
