    How can i leave a family group when the organization account is loss?


    Dear Microsoft Support Team,



    I am currently experiencing an issue with my Microsoft account.



    Account email: *** Die E-Mail-Adresse wurde aus Datenschutzgründen entfernt. ***

    My account appears to be added to a Microsoft Family Group as a "child" account. Because of this, I am unable to use certain features such as downloading apps from the Microsoft Store or changing account settings.



    I did not create or join this family group myself, and I no longer have contact with the person who may have added my account to it. I purchased this account some time ago and was unaware that it was linked to a family group.



    I kindly request that you help me remove my account from the current family group so that I can regain full control and functionality of my account.

    Hi, this can be a bit odd but can you try leaving the family group and try once you're alone?
    (If you're the only family organizer in the group please add first another account as family organizer (or you can create a new one for this purpose)

    If everything looks good outside the family group. Go back to the group and try again once you're in (don't forget to add yourself as family organizer)

    Check this webpage for information on leaving a family group as the organizer: Leave family group or remove members. Check under the dropdown menu called Leave family group (organizer).

    Did you try to change these settings at xbox.com/privacy? And is your account listed at 18 years or older, or did it age up into adult status and was previous a child account?

    How do I change the family organizer to a family member and create a new family organizer?

    Hi, I hope you're doing great out there. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you with your concern.

    You may need to leave the family group first, this will leave the family organizer the only one in the group, and then you can re-add the previous family organizer as a member.

    How did you not know what family you are a part of?

    Without the Family Organizer, it's not possible to leave the family group.

    Are you using an Adult account? What do you mean you had this account for a while? Did you not create it?

    Based on the description, you are having issue leaving from a family group. Let us check and see on what we can do to help resolve your concern in a timely manner.

    It is possible that your account is a child account and only the adult who granted consent can remove a child account from the family group. Only organizers of a family group can remove family members. If it places you in the same family, it is because your account is member of the Family group and only organizer of the family can remove you. You have to reach out to parent or organizer of the family.
