    How Can I get hold of someone to get my Account unlocked?


    This is a last resort,

    I am locked out of my main account for no reason (this is an alt)

    On Friday Night (09/09) I opened my XBOX Series X, clicked on my account as usual and was greeted by a 'Please sign in' message. Now I know these are pretty standard and often pop up from time to time, what I wasn't expecting was to be greeted by this message

    'Help us secure your account

    We have detected unusual activity on your Microsoft account *MY EMAIL*, or believe your credentials are at risk.

    For your security and to ensure that only you have access to your account, we will ask you to verify your identity and change your password.'.

    I then am told I need to have access to a phone I had when I was 15... (which I sure I had changed) but I can't check this as I have been locked out of my email. I am told I can use an alternative phone number (i.e my partner's or even my new phone) but there is no option to do that.

    I then attempted to fill out the Verification form where they ask a series of convoluted questions which I don't believe can proof anyones identity. Such as:

    - What device is this linked to - only lists a 360 or One so not even my device hence making the form out dated

    - What was the last email subjects and contacts you sent to - this isn't an email address I used I strictly use this as my xbox live account as it was set up for me when I was a kid.

    I can provide proof of address, my old phone number, recent purchases, card info, device info, when I last logged on, everything that says this account is mine however there is no way to prove this on the form.

    My form was simply denied. with no further support.

    I have sent countless messages into the infinite void which is the virtual chat, I have tried calling, I have tried requesting to call and I have tried twitter. I even wrote an email which was also denied.

    I am simply lost for words, the value of this account both monetary and sentimentally is huge for me. And Xbox have failed to even tell me why this has happened and if they are even going to cancel my subscription to XBOX live which they are still quite happy to take my money for.

    I am now at my wits end and am desperate to talk to someone about this. I have been avid Xbox owner for nearly 20 years and find it shocking at this I don't understand how a company as big as Microsoft/ XBOX can have such poor customer service.

    Please can someone reach out and support this I need to know what is happening and if I can get my account back.

    We understand that you are trying to recover your locked account. We know how important it is for you to access the account especially as it is linked to your games, purchases and achievements. Just to set your expectations, the Microsoft account is managed by a fully automated server and we don't have manual access to it. Microsoft takes the security and privacy of our customers very seriously. We are committed to protecting your personal information, and the careful account recovery process is designed to protect you from possible malicious activity. Please allow me to do the best I can to help you recover your account.

    Security information added to an account is for validating the account owner if a suspicious activity happens. If the account requires an update or change in personal details, addition/removal of a payment instrument, a change of password, a security information will help the Microsoft system validate the person accessing the account if it is the owner or not. Therefore, the security information must be updated. Even updating the account security is only accessible to the account owner. Without security information you will have slim chance of recovering the account.

    There are two things you can do with an account protected by old or non-accessible security information. Recover the account using the account recovery form or try the login helper tool. Now please try the account recovery form first. Using a device that was previously used to sign in to your parent's account and in the same location where the account is using the same device would be an advantage in account recovery. If you have been doing this account recovery form twice a day and the details you have been sharing are still not allowing you to access the account, then you can try to log into the helper tool.     Even though this announcement was made three years ago, we'd like to make sure you're also familiar with this update - Microsoft account activity policy - Microsoft Support. ... You must sign in to your Microsoft account at least once in a two-year period to keep your account active. If you don't sign in during this time, Microsoft will consider your account inactive.

    Account recovery is automated for a reason – that the account owner must know every detail of the account and only then can recover it at times like this. There have been updates on how to ensure a Microsoft account is protected, in addition to adding a phone number, you can add a secondary email account, add Microsoft authenticator to generate unique code, and generate recovery code.

    Account recovery is in your hands, we hope you can access it back.
