Demo is short for “demonstration”, which is exactly what the video of the devs playing is.

Rock Band had a “demo” of Welcome to the Jungle, a song which was never in the game, nor licensed in any way. It was strictly used for internal testing and for that video.

Creating a demo is a huge amount of work, and I expect them to be in shorter supply in the near future due to Covid. Just better to spend the effort finishing the game

I "might" agree with you & I really mean no offense in any way, but, you need to speak ENGLISH. I cant understand what you are "trying" to say, it doesn't help that you have put like 5 spaces in-between half the words, WHY? Is your keyboard or phone broken maybe or something? I THINK your "trying" to say that like EVERYONE you sick to death of all these supposed game "demos" being nothing more that almost pointless videos instead of actual "playable" demos, is that what you are trying to say? If so WHY didnt you literally just say that then! I'm a 38yr old gamer (I know, I cant believe it myself, whats worse is I still look 25! I cant even grow a proper beard or mustache, not that I would ever want a horrible mustache as I dont want to look like a 70's ****! lol) but being over 35yrs old I grew up with 99% of games having playable demos, in fact the word "demo" does NOT mean "video"! A video of an upcoming game is called a "Trailer" of a "gameplay trailer" so Devs, PLEASE get a CLUE & STOP tying to con gamers in by lying & DELIBERATELY mislabeling "Trailers" as "Demos" as we arent stupid, we obviously know the difference between something we can play & a trailer! & we ALL know that ALL it is is you devs are LAZY! If they used to make demos for literally ALL games then there is NO excuse but your lazy! I remember even games like "Fallout 2" had a demo (thats how I found out about it & became one of my top 5 fav games ever, all from a demo) so if a game like Fallout 2 can have a demo then ANY game obviously can.
