How can I get a refund for a redeemed gift? The recipient could not utilize the gift...

It was within 10 minutes of my request. But I bought it as a gift also and it seems they have this policy.



Returns and Refunds. Gifts may be canceled and refunded to the Gift purchaser up to 14 days after the purchase or until redeemed by the Gift recipient, whichever occurs first. Gift recipients are not entitled to a refund or cooling off period, and you acknowledge that no refund will be made, except as required by law.

Now the gift was 'redeemed by the gift recipient' but obviously she cant play it because she doesnt have the base game and now there is no way to request a refund. So that kind o' sucks but hey I did get my refund and she has Xbox One so we can purchase the base game and all will be ok.

That is not how the gift system works. If the recipient already has the game or doesn’t want it
the recipient can give the code to someone else to redeem. Or, they can ask you to
return the item for a refund. The recipient can’t return or exchange the gift code.

I purchased Minecraft for PC version (gift for my kid), it has been redeemed, but i want to return and get a refund. It is less than 10 days and not even used for 10 min.

I dont see a refund option in my account, and there is no contact number or chat avaialble it seems for microsoft store ( if true then its very weird).

Can someone please advise .

gifted items that have already been redeemed are not eligible for a refund according to the gifting terms. Only gifted items that have not already been redeemed are eligible

Your friend will have to get a refund or gift the code to a friend in the same region. It does state whilst purchasing that gifting only works in the same region.

• If the recipient receives the following error message: “Contact the seller to get a code that works in your region. The code was purchased in a different region and cannot be redeemed”—this means that givers and recipients must always be in the same country
  or region. If not, you can return the game for a refund.
