    How can i gain an inactive gamertag?


    So i read Microsoft is releasing inactive gamertags for accounts that haven't been in use for years. Can someone assist me so i can give more information to clarify what needs to be done

    Not an Ambassador?

    I signed up to be an Ambassador a month or 2 ago but I never got around to see if I was accepted. When I wen on the site it said that I was inactive? How do I start to gain XP? Or am I no longer an Ambassador for being inactive :S .

    How can i gain an inactive gamertag?

    As from about September/October last year any gamertag that does not log in for 5 years is then freed up & made available.

    If thiers a tag you want & you think might be inactive then start checking in about 5 years to see if it has been made available.

    Remember that gamertags are used on other services,not just xbox live & things like spaces & capital letters aren't recognised so GAMERTAG would be the same as gamer tag.

    Hope that makes sense.

    How to submit a ticket for requesting an inactive account gamertag to be reset?

    I want to change my gamertag to the name I use on all other platforms, the gamertag is used by an inactive (atleast 5 years inactive) Xbox account. How can this gamertag be reset so that I can use it on my own account?
    If they sign into the Microsoft account their xbox gamertag is tied to in order check their email at least once every 2 years then this will also make their account (active) and basically would never have their gamertag reset as long as they do that.

    Because of that there really is no way to know for sure if an account is inactive or not.

    How do you know it's inactive? Gamertags are used on several Microsoft services,not just Xbox live,so there is no way to know if a gamertag is inactive or not.

    Just because a gamertag has low gamerscore of hasn't logged into Xbox live for a certain amount of time does not mean it's inactive.
