How can I fix the game chat?

4. Try a different microphone or headset. If you're still having trouble, it's possible that your microphone or headset is malfunctioning. Try using a different one to see if that fixes the problem.
   
5. Contact the game developer for support. If you've tried all of the above and you're still having trouble, contact the game developer for support. They may be able to help you troubleshoot the issue and find a solution.

My settings have been all set to "allow" and "everyone" for years. Earlier I tried resetting them as I saw from another suggestion, which didn't solve my issue. What else could prevent me from talking in game chat?

Based on your description, your daughter is trying to do chat mixer using the headset however, the option to use chat mixer is greyed out. Let us check on this together and sort this out in timely manner for you to get back to gaming.

It could be the console needs power cycle or else the headset here is faulty. Let us isolate the issue, please answer our questions below:

1. May we confirm if you are referring to this headset - Xbox Wireless Headset | Xbox?
   
2. If yes, may we confirm if you have tried power cycle on Xbox Series S? Please follow the steps below:
   
   • Turn off your console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds, until it shuts down completely.
     
   • Unplug the console's power cable. Wait 10 seconds. You may include other cables connected to the console too.
     
     Important Be sure to wait at least 10 seconds. This step resets the power supply.
     
   • Plug the console power cable back in.
     
   • Press the Xbox button on your console to turn it on.

3. Can you try connecting the headset on another Xbox Console? Will issue persist?
