How can I fix my external hard drive from interfering with all of my games?

Have you tried performing a power cycle or trying a different external drive to see if the issue remains? You can also try plugging it into a different USB spot. The internal hard drive on the new Xbox series x is totally blank there is nothing on the internal hard drive zero zip so all my games are on the external hard drive told the machine to update to the external hard drive it will not update to the external hard drive do I have a defective machine I just bought it does it need to be returned can you help or not and if you can how to!?

Do other games you own that aren't from game pass have the same problem? Do you have an external hard drive. If a game I install to my external hard drive is very laggy I will move it to my internal hard drive which usually fixes the problem.

The fix I ended up finding was moving the game from external hard drive to my internal system and it worked
