How can I extend power cable from AC adapter to XBOX ONE and 360?

I would strongly recommend contacting a licensed electrician in your area and discuss your plans with him/her. There are cable management systems out there as well.

The OEM cables are designed with purpose in mind; from a safety standpoint, having an electrician install additional runs/outlets may be the best choice, it's cleaner, and it's relatively inexpensive to do.

Is the power supply the ac adapter?

Yes, I was referring to the power brick, which is essentially part of the ac adapter. It's a two part tool as you can see they can be disconnected, and if one doesn't work or is bad, then the whole thing
doesn't allow power to travel. I feel at this point that you may need another replacement power brick for your Xbox 360.

I suspect the script reader in the call center is translating "adapter" as the AC power cord that goes from the wall to the power brick. If so, it's true that changing the AC cord will do nothing for you.



A UK 360, in the USA, will work with a USA power brick. As you stated, the input power to the 360 is in DC. That does not change. What changes is the AC voltage/frequency range that the power brick accepts.

Okay...how about power-cycling your router? To do this:

1. Unplug the AC Adapter from the router.

2. Wait at least 1 minute for the software to shut down.

3. Plug the AC Adapter back in and wait until everything powers up.

Having an orange light on the power adapter is not uncommon. That just means the power adapter is ready to feed power to the device. However if the Xbox is still not turning on, it's possible something may be wrong with the connection to the Xbox itself.


But like stated above, unplug everything that has to do with the power. That is including removing the power adapter form the AC outlet, unplugging the AC plug from the power brick, and removing the cable from the Xbox. Wait about a minute, this is like
when you hard shutdown a PC. When you plug it back in, plug it back in starting from the XBox to the wall. Plug it directly into the AC outlet and not a surge protector or power strip for the time being. If you still can't get any power to the Xbox, I would
ask a friend to borrow their power and see if it works in your Xbox. This is the easiest way to see if the power adapter is the issue or the Xbox itself. Hope this helps in finding an answer to your issue.
