How can I connect my xbox to my dell monitor via HDMI?

Can you give us the exact model of the Dell Monitor?

Like for example "Dell S2319H"? There should be a label sticker on the backside of the Monitor. With the exact model description, we can try to find the user manual and describe how to change the input.

Or are you trying to connect your Xbox to your Dell Laptop computer, hoping it will display on the laptop's monitor, since you say you can't "select the input ion this computer"?

If you're trying to get the console video on your laptop computer, then this won't work, as the HDMI on the laptop is only a HDMI output.

There is no DVI or anything

So the only port in the back of the monitor is the HDMI port?

This is probably why there is no Input button to change the input because there is only one input.

What I want you to do is to follow these directions for resetting your display settings:

1. If there's a disc in the Xbox One console, eject it.
   
2. On the console, press and hold the Xbox button
    for 10 seconds to turn off the console.
   
3. Press and hold the Xbox button
    and the Eject button until you hear a beep to turn on the console. You’ll hear one beep right away and a second beep 10 seconds later. The power light will flash on before the second beep.
   Don’t let go until the second beep occurs.
   Note If you have an Xbox One S All-Digital Edition, you’ll need to press and hold the
   Xbox button  and the
   Pair button instead, as your console does not have an Eject button.
   
4. In either case, this will boot your console in low resolution mode (640 × 480). To reset this setting, press the
   Xbox button  to open the guide. Go to
   Profile & system > Settings > General >
   TV & display options, and then select the resolution you want from the Display dropdown.
   
5. If you’re required to complete these steps on every boot-up, you’ll want to change your TV connection to HDMI as shown in step 3 of the next section, "Your screen is blank and you use an AVR in your setup." For more info, see

My monitor doesn't have the buttons. I don't know why. Is there anywhere else I could find this at?
