How can I Charge Controller on Win 10 PC but still play on my Xbox One?

I want to charge my Xbox One controller on my PC via USB while playing on my console with it.. but ffor some reason everytime I plug it in, first Windows installs it for use with it.. fine I get that, remove the device from windows and the light flashes
but even after trying to re-sync controller with Xbox it never connects until I remove the cable.. Any idea what I can do other than not play and connect it to my Xbox?

360 play and charge kit on PC/Windows RT

Hi guys, I was hoping to use my 360 controller on my pc and tablet. So I tried connecting via play and charge usb adapter.

Is the play and charge kit adapter literally for charging only, or is it supposed to allow input to the pc so I can play?

In the charms pc settings pc devices, it shows up as Xbox 360 Wireless Controller via Play & Charge kit. It also says that exact same line in Device Manager under Xbox 360 peripherals. But on both PC and tablet I can't actually get it to provide input. The
jewel on the controller will never lock into a player one led, it just flashes.

I would love to use my xbox one controller on windows RT but it isnt supported which really sucks so that's why I need help using a 360 controller.

When you connect the USB cord from the Windows PC to the Xbox controller, Windows will always try to get it linked up as an input device. That's how it's designed -- in case you want to stream the Xbox or play a PC game.

Might I suggest a USB smartphone/tablet wall charger?

What type of port are you using a USB 2, or a 3.0? also are you using the cord that came with the controller or a 3rd party? also for some people using the usb ports that are on the back of the computer does fix this issue. Please let us know if these worded
for you.

When a cord is connected to the Xbox One controller it turns off the wireless function to work as a wired controller. Because of this the suggestion of using a USB wall charger
WILL NOT work.

The only way that you can use your Xbox One Controller on a W10 PC and play Xbox whilst charging the controller at the same time is to stream the game to your PC with the Xbox App if your PC meets the minimum requirements for it. If you don't want to do
this then the only thing to do is just connect a USB directly from your Xbox to your controller

Thanks for the fast reply but this did not help me with my problem. except from the xbox beta app i have no problems playing games with my wireless xbox 360 controller on my win 10 pc. i would consider buying an xbox one controller if that would solve
the problem. does the xbox beta app (game pass for win 10) support the xbox 360 controller normally?

The Xbox One Play and charge cable differs to the 360 play and charge in that it
does sent data as well as charging the battery. How do I know this? Well, I'm using the
exact same cable.

Yes, the Xbox 360 play and charge can't send data, but the Xbox One play and charge can. I'm using one, the official one.

As you can see from the image below, my controller is using the Xbox One Play and Charge on the PC and is working.

I still refer back to my previous comments regarding either a faulty controller or a faulty cable. It could be a Windows issue, but at the moment I doubt that to be the case.
