    Hi, I’m looking for help regarding Hitman 3 Deluxe Edition, which I own on disc for Xbox One. I’ve recently moved to an Xbox Series S, which does not support physical media.

    I’ve downloaded the Hitman 3 (World of Assassination) base game and the access passes that are available (I also own the first 2 games), but I’m missing the Hitman 3 maps and the Freelancer mode. These are only available in deluxe or bundle editions in the Microsoft Store, and I cannot install them separately even though I already own them through my disc purchase.

    Since the Series S cannot read discs, there seems to be no official way to verify disc ownership and get access to the content I’ve already paid for. Is there a way to unlock the maps and Freelancer mode digitally on my Series S account? I can provide proof of ownership, including photos of the disc, packaging, and receipts.

    It’s frustrating that there's no built-in way to transition from disc to digital, especially for Series S users. I hope there’s a solution or someone from support can assist.

    I can understand your frustration here, but unfortunately, there's no way to convert a disc-based game to digital on Xbox. Since the Series S has no disc drive, it can’t verify disc ownership, so content from the physical version isn’t accessible on that console.

    You would have to buy the digital version

    What you are talking about doesn't exist on any platform as it's an anti piracy measure not Sony not Nintendo not steam

    If you need a disk you need a disk platform in the case of Xbox series x aslong as it's not the all digital you are fine

    Sony has the patent on the expandable drive so it's unlikely

    you could contact IO Interactive and describe them your situation.

    With some luck and very much good will they might send you a code.

    No guarantee but I think it's worth a try.

    Worked for me once with a different game from a different developer after I'd proved that I own the game.

    disc can and do contain DLC and unlocks, you'll have to ask the developers for details about why

    Hitman 3 is an offline game so your internet connection will have zero impact on playing the game missions.

    All Xbox One and Series X|S disc games fully install to the hard drive when run for the first time. After this the disc is only accessed to prove ownership. They are not read during play. It's not a laser issue.

    Which Xbox do you own? Hitman 3 is a 30fps title on the Xbox One and 60fps on Series X|S.

    What display are you using with your console?
