As you're not able to access to the account, I can advise you fill the account recovery form, in that way you're going to submit a ticket with Microsoft account recovery team https://account.live.com/acsr

If maybe you're not able to recover the account, the best option is dispute the charge with your bank and ask them to give you a new card and delete/block the one attached with this account

Please note that no one here including regular Microsoft Support is capable to send password reset links for security policies

You can not transfer accounts. Once a name is tied to it, then it stays associated.

Also if it has a Microsoft email (@outlook, @live, @hotmail etc) changing/deleting the email will stop access your father might have to other Microsoft services associated with the email address.

There isn't just some easy way to delete the other account tied to my current email and then switch my current gamer tag over to my current email? I see how these other methods would work, but adding another new account and then waiting 30 days to try to
change things again seems a bit ridiculous. I can access both accounts, why is there no option to just delete and account.

how did you change the email as the email address IS the microsoft account and everything purchased is tied to that microsoft account, you can only change a microsoft account email via alias creation.

No, and Yes.

Microsoft has no access to the 3d party email providers who provide you with your email service, but they do have access to the Microsoft Account which uses the email address as it it were a username. You can recover the Microsoft password using http//:account.live.com/password/reset
