How 'bout that Backwards Compatibility

So I don't think anyone buys The Xbox One purely on backwards compatibility. It's a strategic move to consolidate your equipment.

I want to see Enslaved: Odyssey To The West brought in for BC. That game was visually striking, rich in gameplay ideas, and has some interesting names behind it. I was trying to get back into this game on Steam before I abandoned that platform.

Enslaved is one of the best games of last gen in my opinion and probably one of the few backwards compatible titles I care about.

I want Bad Company 2 and MOH Warfighter and Red Dead Redemption and Far Cry 2 & 3 to be backward compatible.

Left 4 Dead 2 is backwards compatible. That is all that matters to me.

Been gaming since Pong, and have well in excess of 2,000 games for various systems. Never heard of Borderlands untill it was offered via BC and wouldn't ya know it. Gold ran out just days prier.

Yet I got lucky and grabed a Brand New GOTY edition on the dirty dirt cheap, and man is that game good. Best BC game thus far, been playing it every day since. ;-)

Yeah I been there as well starting with Pong on Atari 2600. But yeah I'm shocked no Battlefields been backward compatible yet. Seems a bit odd. But then again seems like most the big name AAA titles are held back for probably package deals for buying
new XBOX1 games. But BF1 had no package deal so either happens E3 or slow process years later. Look we first got COD Black Ops 1 other day and that was advertise last year November.

There are a few excellent titles on the list. Plus, they have to start somewhere and not to mention that it was said about a month ago that about another 100+ titles should be on the list by end of the year. Just wait for E3!!

Well you figure 7 more months of this year for games with gold times 2. So that's 14 games. Besides we get anywhere from a couple to about 5 or so a week. So a 100 wont be that far off. Haven't counted how many weeks left in the year but 100 sounds about
right. Maybe 32 more weeks in this year? Unless it's gonna be a big 100 drop like last time? I heard that rumor as well.

peggle is a bc title yet that is on your gamer card yet bc offers no games you are interested in how could you not be interested in saint row IV as that is on bc oh wait its on your card as well. i see you prefer playstation and feel the need to try and
make out it is better to xbox. i am sorry 2 generation old bc you have to pay for even if you have it already is not better

Have some healthy skepticism. Publishers don't want to give something for free when they can try to resell something or bundle it as a bonus with another title that they're trying to sell. For example, I don't think you're going to see Red Dead Redemption
backwards compatible until RDR2 is announced and released. They they offer the backwards compatible game as a bonus. This will help sales on Xbox One.

Why did I say publishers don't want to give away something for free? It's not free, you already paid for the games. That's right. But the freedom to reuse a game title on another platform and reduce your expenditure is what they want to avoid. If they can
instead turn this into another purchase then that's how they will do it. But sometimes its cheaper to just release a game like Borderlands which is practically obsolete in the face of Borderlands 2, which everyone thinks is the better game. Maybe they'll get
a few more sales for doing nothing at all.
