How bad the kinect sucks

Why did we pay $100

ore than Playstation for a kinect that barely works? Changing channels is horrible, using it in place of a headset is sketchy at best. And besides "I need a ride" in Battlefield it has no other uses what so ever..

So you make a judgmental post based on someones behaviour, through typed communication may I add, come to a conclusion based on said judgement and fire blame right back at him for your own guess work. If this isn't proof the ambassador program is broken

It's best not to hook it up. You might not like paying $100 for a paperweight especially since the Kinect doesn't even make a decent paperweight.

 

I have noticed that most of the time when I say XBOX on...it doesnt turn on...

 

Kinects new sales campaign... "Kinect you'll either love it or hate it." I am of the prior. When I first got it I had some issues with it recognizing voice commands but I recalibrated it with the volume as high as it could go and lowered it until Kinect
stop saying the volume was too high. I have had no problems since then... also it has to be dead silent in the room when you calibrate it.

 

I never really enjoyed kinect to be honest. It feels more like a gimmick or some kind of fad that'll go away with due time. I hope Microsoft starts to innovate instead of pushing gimmicks on us.

 

The Xbox 360 kinect is alright, my partner wanted one for her 360 so I got her one. Sadly it doesn't really get used much. I tried the voice commands with Skyrim and using the shouts was fun. You really have to talk loud and clear for you to recognise you
when navigating the dashboard.

Haven't had the luxury of using the Xbox one kinect but I am guessing it is similar with a better camera.

 

I LOVE my Kinect. I can't imagine going back. Is it an imperfect technology? Absolutely. But so are a lot of the devices we use. It's the price we pay for buying "cutting edge" or "new" technology like this. Think about iOS for iPhone... I personally always
update when a new one comes out right away. Are the bugs annoying? Yes. But I like the opportunity to test out new software and get used to it. More patient people wait a month or two until Apple pushes updates/bug fixes.

Microsoft has pushed several updates that have improved Kinect, and obviously there are more to come.

 

Works fine for me, but it does seem to be hit or miss with people.

Also, if it wasn't for the Kinect you wouldn't be able to shake zombies off yourself in Dead Rising 3 as I believe the Kinect is what senses the shaking of the controller.

 

I like the Kinect as well, and it is a nice improvement over the 360 version, although I did give up on the "Xbox On" command I can hardly ever get it to work.
