How are people making Game DVR montages with songs and custom text?

I can not comprehend how these people are making custom game DVR montages. I'd like to do this, but I don't know how I can. Or even if I can. What's the deal? I'ved tried searching the internet for answers but I find none.

#3 [youtube.com] (I realise most people will hate the first song but I like making the video kind of match the words and this was a good song
to do this with, plus the first half of my videos are always just a build-up to the second half)

Side note: people need to learn the definition of montage, it's a video collage artisticly put together, timing and build ups to good bits are key, sick of seeing videos that people just slap together with their favorite song that dosen't even fit and getting
like 100K views cause they call it 'epic amazing montage'.... I see most montages where people really put time in have less than 100 views.

I am posting this to hopefully get inspiration to make another one as none of my friends play BF3 any more and I will be capturing and playing alone.

Dvr help

ok so I’m making a montage for halo 5 and I’m using game dvr I have made 8 clips today and I need to do 2 more I’ve deleted clips but they say uploading to Xbox live but have no percentage I’ve tried restarting Xbox

Well, you can do quite a bit in Upload Studio on your console.

Many people edit on their desktops, though. You can download your recorded video clips by going through www.XboxClips.com , for example. Look up your gamertag, and you'll find everything you currently have saved. Go to town with your editing.

Something called a PVR maybe? I have had one since January last year. It's the Hauppauge HD PVR2 I use it for my Youtube channel. I do post personal vids on it but the channel has like 80% of Xbox stuff. With my PVR you get Hauppauge Capture and ArcSoft
