How about a reward for UK customers?

It was no secret that TV integration would not be available at launch in the UK.

Geez how lame, I am not eligible for XBL Rewards because I live in Holland, apparently US and UK only.

It's not for US only, mine was a UK reward.

 

That was at launch. It's now six months down the line and nothing. I understand that its new and these things happen. But I also feel that Microsoft have let their loyal consumers down on this one.

When the two main things that the system were sold on were integrated media and HD gaming. It's about time we were rewarded for our patience.

I read a great analogy on a previous blog about this. If you buy a car and it's advertised as having blu tooth technology and a 150bho engine. You expect it to have these things.. If it didn't and you were told that it will have the blu tooth after a 6-8
months and that it may never reach 150bhp you would be demanding your money back.

 

It reached 150bhp with Forza at launch though, it has the capability it's down to devs to get to grips with it, which will happen. The TV thing is just round the corner as it's in the preview program. Personally I was aware of what the One could and couldn't
do at launch and I'm happy with it. We have already seen a steady stream of improvements since it was launched and there are more to come.

 

The only way Forza plays in full HD is by way of reducing the graphics and textures in the background. Such as trees and crowds. This is due to the bottleneck caused by the eSRAM. Devs have said its just not big enough to push through 1080p. Only in recent
weeks have some developers said they may be able to get to grips with it.

I am disappointed that Microsoft have mis-lead the consumer thru advertising abilities that the product does not have. I can't understand how this can actually be defended by anyone. I have spoke to Microsoft customer services and even they agree that this
is an issue.

Now I'm not saying that I now want to rush out and buy a PS4. I don't really like them and never have. And I am still quite hopeful that Microsoft will come good in the end. But in the mean time i think they should be giving their customers a little something
back. If not for any other reason than to help keep the Xone popular so it doesn't just die off.

 

It never ceases to amaze me to see people carrying on about resolutions they're physically incapable of identifying.

Without someone to tell you, you'd have no clue what resolution a game was playing at.

 

Wolfenstein hits the 150bhp mark and is released later this month.

 

If you had two systems running at different resolutions and frame rates side by side on the same model of TV then you could tell the difference. Check out the difference on PCs when you play around with these settings on high end games.

But this is not my point. It was advertised as being able to do something which it doesn't look like it can do. While this is sorted out (if it can be). I believe Microsoft should be rewarding their customers for there patience.

Just read that Genchy. That is really good news! Looks like Bethesada have worked out the eSRAM issue. Let's hope that they will apply it to Elder Scrolls too!

Still sticking to my original point tho. UK customers deserve a reward for their patience.

Do you know if Watchdogs will be running at full BHP? Because that looks like it could be an amazing title!

Sure I know there's certain features that us in the UK haven't got yet but from memory we knew this? Ok it seems everyone wants everything like yesterday, in reality though it's not the way it works, as Genchy said, there's already been a steady stream of
improvements with more to come, it's the same with any console, they will evolve, get better with time, just a case of having some patience.

I'm not getting into the whole resolution gate between consoles but ..

Xbox One in my opinion has already produced some stunning looking games, for me some games like Ryse ( not a 1080p game ) looked better than titles that were 1080p, for me this is just something that some sites love to latch onto "1080p" like somehow it
improves the way games play!

Again though, the resolutions/graphics will improve, look back to the first 12 months of the 360 and the games, then look further down the line to see how they improved, these things take time, it doesn't happen over night.

At the end of the day though if your not happy, well your not happy lol but time will be the only remedy.

If I purchased any good I would expect it to perform as advertised. I would not expect to wait six months for it to begin to do what it's meant to do. I can't understand why Microsoft would expect this from consumers.

Your point on the 360 I don't really understand. For the first 12 months of the 360 it was far better at gaming than the PS3 which had many issues. On paper the PS3 had more power but the devs struggled to get to grips with the chip set used (ring any bells).
The 360s main issue was reliability and the fact the backed HD instead of blu-Ray.

 

I blame conglomerate websites for stirring up a hornets nest with the all 1080p graphics click bait.

Games should be all about game play not eye candy. If one does better (nicer-ish) than the other so what.

I've been gaming 30+ years, and frankly this last year I have been ashamed of what I've read on review websites. Naming no names!

All's I can say is, if you don't like what Microsoft are offering, then move on.

Maybe we're just sick of hearing the same old crap from people who don't have the machine.

You want last gen's games at 1080p then Sony's your platform.
