Hotspot question

Greetings,

May be a silly question, but when you check a hotspot, you can "withdraw" donations, or donate something yourself. If you want to donate cash, I am afraid to click the option because it looks like I'm donating ALL my cash. I assume that when you click
it, it will then ask you how much you want to donate. I wanted to confirm this is true before I try it because it would suck to lose all my cash!

It would use the amount equal to the size of the download. If it's a 15GB download, it would use that much of your data plan.

Hey there guys, I live out in the middle of nowhere, so I have a satellite connection, it is a newer technology connection, so up/down speeds are really nice, but ping times make gaming impossible. But there is hope for me yet. We get decent Verizon 3G
at our house in places if you hold your phone just right, so we just installed a cell booster that amplifies the signal to give us consistant 3G at speeds of about 800Kbps up and 400Kpbs down, and pings of around 100-150. Now I know that doesn't sound too
great, but it sure beats the ping of my satellite of 600-800ms. This provides a decent connection, but there are brief spikes in ping time every few minutes, but it's not that bad. So what I am going to do is use the hotspot on my iphone, which connects just
fine and makes for an ok experience. I have a 2GB monthly limit on the hotspot and I could probably also use my dad's phone, to maybe I could get up to 3.5GB. I've looked up the amount of data an hour of gaming takes up (usually 20-80MB, but sometimes more.)
and I would usually game online for less than an hour a day, give or take. but the first question I have is whether or not the numbers that I have been reading include VoIP, and if not, how much more bandwidth does Voice chat take up per hour? The other question
I have regards NAT type. The NAT type of the hotspot connection is Moderate, which means to my understanding, that I can only connect with people that have a moderate/open type connection, but not a strict one. I have also heard that because of this, I cannot
host games, which I would prefer, because hosting games would destroy my 2GB limit, so I am also wondering what some other downsides to having a Moderate NAT type are? Final question, would I be better off adding a Mifi router to our plan? I know that it probably
would, but keep the fact that my parents pay my cell bill in mind. I am usually pretty good with computers and networking, but online gaming is pretty foreign to me as I haven't really had too many opportunities to study it. Also, please could nobody tell
me how terrible tethering your console to your phone is. I know it's not ideal, but it's all I can really do.

 

you choose the amount you want to donate. when you click it, you move the analog stick to add money to the hotspot.

 

You can only donate up to 1000 dollars at a time so don't worry about the money so much. There is a lot of easy ways to get more cash in the game and who knows the person who picks up the money you donated might of really needed it

 

money is easy as heck to come by. i already bought everything and have over 1 million dollars and nothing to spend it on.
