Hotspot on Xbox

While hotspots can be used for playing online and talking in parties (ive used them plenty of times before for this) they can be very hit or miss and tend to have NAT issues (which could cause the sort of issues you are having). Ive never found a solid fix for it and whenever it worked for me it was sorta just luck of the draw honestly.

Unfortunately, mobile hotspots are not designed to be fully compatible with the console and may not work at all times. Is there anything else running off of your hotspot?

You can try resetting the hotspot or creating a new one on the phone but there is never a guarantee that a mobile hotspot will work with an Xbox One console.

I just connect to xbox live with the mobile hotspot to watch Netflix and YouTube. I've been doing that for a year. Then right after the smartphone update Xbox won't connect to the phones hotspot.

I tried the hard reset and turning off the hotspot and back on again but the Xbox still can't connect to the network.

Getting a hotspot to work with an xbox can be really tricky, most hotspots do not have the configuration settings of a standard router. You could be having issues with DNS or DHCP
