    Hotmail login issue with XBOX live


    I just wanted to share this with those who may have trouble signing into XBOX with their hotmail/microsoft account. If you change your password and/or set up the hotmail/microsoft account to require 2-step verification, you will be unable to sign into your
    xbox live using your email. I received several prompts telling me that my password was incorrect. I signed on the computer and verified that I did have the correct password. I turned 2-step off and it allowed me to sign in xbox using my hotmail/microsoft email
    after that. I turned 2-step verification back on after signing into the xbox and it allowed me to stay signed in. Just wanted to share this with others who may be having trouble signing in.

    Deleting old hotmail account

    I recently changed my xbox live user name because of privacy issues. However i also need to remove a old hotmail account because of privacy issues as well.

    I was able to associate my xbox live account with my new hotmail account and am able to login to xbox live with it and also this forum. However whenever i start my xbox at the top right hand side of the screen it still shows my old hotmail account.

    I want to delete my old hotmail account asap but i want to know if its ok to do so and if it will affect my xbox live account

    Having issues logging into Xbox music with a different windows live account.
    Have Win 8 rtm - 64bit
    Zune pass
    I login to Windows 8 with a windows live account, we will call it "WindowsLogin @ Hotmail . com" to sync all setting and messages.
    My Zune pass account and Xbox Id is under a different user Id: we will call it "XboxLogin @ Hotmail . com"
    When I launch Xbox music, I cannot specify the account I want to use. When I click on "login" in upper right hand corner, It will use the "WindowsLogin @ Hotmail . com" account with no option to change.
    I need to be able to specify the Xbox Music login to use my "XboxLogin @ Hotmail . com" so the app will use my Zune Pass information and stream all music.
    The Zune desktop app would let one specify the account to use.

    If you mean that you want to login to Xbox using your gmail account instead of your Hotmail account then you just won't be able to access your account anymore using your Hotmail address. It's probably going to "delete" the link between hotmail and your
    xbox login. Your hotmail account should still remain, unless you allow it to become dormant.

    Xbox Live has a faulty parental account system. It will not let me log into my Gold account even though the password I'm putting in is correct.

    Xbox.com asks for the email that the account is tied to not a hotmail/win live mail unless you use it. So if you use a Yahoo mail to login to xbox.com you would use that to login in.

    EoS ZeroTurtlez, I solved the problem by myself, and this is what you should do: Enter the parent e-mail adress in Windows Live Messenger or Hotmail and try to login over there. if you want to reset your password, they'll ask some security questions like:
    First name, age, etc,... From the moment you can reset your password and login to Hotmail or messenger, you will be able to login on your console. Greetz (sorry for bad English :p)

    There's an issue with the system right now. Check the status at
    support.xbox.com/.../xbox-live-status     and when things are fixed, try again.

    You could also try making sure that you sign out of all services (live, hotmail, xbox, etc) that you may be signed into. Clear the web browser cache and cookies (sadly, yes; this sometimes does work for these sorts of issues though) and then try again.
    I've had issues with cached logins before like what you've seen there.

    But mostly it seems to be an issue with xbox live right now.

    To cancel your xbox live account, login to www.xbox.com with your .net passport or hotmail account.

    Then click on the "My Xbox" link, follow by the "Manage Profile" link. Now click the "Billing and Contact Information" link. Finally, click "Cancel my account".
