Hotmail account gone

I had created an Xbox live account for my son's new Xbox last Christmas. My account was bobkardell at Hotmail.com. I have used it several times throughout the year to log into Xbox to approve certain things for my son - bnkardell at Hotmail.com.

I just tried to log into the account again and it was gone.

I understand that if I do not log into Hotmail for 365 days my account is deleted - but I had been using it via Xbox.

I was able to recreate the account but now my gamer tag is changed.

my questions are:

How do I re-establish my account as the parental account for my son's xbox?

How do I - or can I - re-associate my gamer tag with my account?

As a suggestion - MS should not delete a Hotmail account if it has been used through xbox.

Do you think Microsoft will clear out old unused gamertags?

It probably depends on if the Microsoft account is dormant, not the Live account. As long as that person is still using their Hotmail you won't get B0ngR1pp3r420.

So, how many of you are 10 year Xbox Live gamers?

I started with the xboxlive beta with the headset and MotoGP disk, but I currently have a new different gamer tag due to my associated Hotmail account going inactive, due to not logging into email, and thus preventing me from renewing the live account. I had to create a new account while I went through the steps of recovery for the Hotmail address. Once recovered, I simply stayed with my new gamer tag... Now associated with the old Hotmail account. :-(

I don't think they'll delete your hotmail account. Are you sure it is gone? When you tried to sign in did it say your account was deleted?

I would contact Xbox support about it. They have a pretty decent twitter support.

You can not add any MS server email (Outlook, MSN, Live, Hotmail) to another MS account because it is already and MS account. So your son is either going to need to create a new email address and use it on his Win 10 computer.

Another thing that you want to keep in mind is that if you add an alias to your wives Hotmail account then remove her Hotmail account It will be GONE FOREVER and will NEVER be able to get it back.

do you got a alternative e mail saved up in your hotmail? you ever tried to log into your hotmail? if it they still cant recover it then its maybe really gone. or you make a new hotmail and connect the mail address you cant use to it and try if that connects
somehow? I really think youu need to talk to the hotmail people.

My dad's having a similar problem with messed up Xbox Live accounts and his Microsoft account.

They literally have his email wrong. They have it down as hotmail with it is an aol email. I got no clue how to fix this, and he has no clue how to fix this and microsoft/xbox is not very helpful in this entire charade.

Dad had two security email one was hotmail, the other aol and now we done know whats going on because all his saved data for a game is gone.

I can answer one question for you.

Going by the pic you just posted your moms email was a HOTMAIL email which is a MS server email.

Once you removed that from the account it was put into limbo in MS servers and can NEVER be recovered or made into a new account unfortunately it is GONE forever.
