Hotel connection

I'm at a hotel trying to connect via wireless. I connected via my phone. Then logged off and put my phones MAC address in the xbox as an alternate mac but it still won't connect. Says it might be an ip error. Any tips?

Hotel connections ?!?

I work out of state a lot but I travel with a ps4 because XBOX WON'T WORK ON HOTEL WIFI !! I'd like to travel with my Xbox instead is there any one else bothered by this ??

Hey there BlazeDatS4it!

When you bring your Xbox One console with you to a hotel, try calling the front desk for their IT or ISP and have them add your Xbox One's MAC address to their white list. Next time you go out to a hotel, let us know if that helps!

Depends on the Hotel's network. Some of them filter types of traffic, some leave it wide open. Do you have to open a browser and login in order to use the internet?

Yeah when I connect a page comes up where I enter a username and password they gave me. Then I hit connect.

Thank you for posting on the Xbox forums. We understand that your console is not able to connect to the hotel's network due to an authentication error message. There are some hotels that require you to use a web browser before you can connect to the
network. The web browser will take you to a website for the hotel that has you authenticate the device before it connects. Did you have to open a web browser on your cell phone before it connected to the hotel's WiFi? We suggest reaching out to the hotel's
staff in order to discover if there is additional authentication that is needed for your devices to connect to the network. Be sure to let us know the results!
