Hosts of servers for online functions

Hi,

I have a question regarding the online functions of Xbox One games: who hosts the servers necessary for these functions? Is it the respective game publisher or Microsoft?

If you can play online host based it will only be better with dedicated servers.

i need more people to play with

Dedicated servers are not available yet for xbox one. Meaning you can only play in that game if the host is online. Not sure when or even if dedicated servers are being released for console versions.

Is every game required to have servers for hosting matches? Or are the servers just there for setting up the match making?

Unfortunately Sony does not provide servers for hosting matches on all online games, thus games can differ significantly depending on which player is hosting the match.

Unless there is a dedicated server/host, online tournaments should NOT determine anything. JMHO.

This game runs the same as the COD series, Sub host, they host the servers (stats unlocks etc etc) then we/player host the actual game, unlike EA servers they host every thing and have full control over the server

In the xbox 1 days if you had a modded system this is what we used to do on game tunneling server's as this was the only way to play online, XBC,KAI an a couple of others.

One person would set up a party server then another person would host the game lobby from inside your friends server, a bit sim to network routing.
