Horribly slow digital download -- 65 hours and only 20% complete?!

Purchased a digital copy of Dishonored 2 on Friday the 11th of November. I have Google Fiber, so even at the size of the game it should have taken mere minutes to download. Yet here I am, 65 hrs later, and it's still trickling away at low Kbps/sec rates.

At this speed, I MIGHT have it to play by Thanksgiving. NO freakin' joke. THANKSGIVING. I went through all the support/troubleshooting steps given for slow downloads, but nothing changed the rate that the Microshaft Store is feeding me the data.

You guys suck. I have a big fat fiber pipe and you still can't manage to get me data in any sort of reasonable time. If I could, I'd get a refund and walk my **** to Gamestop, and buy a disc. Lesson learned, never trust Microsoft to get things done right
the first time.

Xbox one digital download problem.

So I'm not sure if I'm the only one that's having a horrible time with these digital downloads, I have been downloading Advanced Warfare for over 10 hours and it's only at 20% (I have terrie Internet). My local redbox has Advanced Warfare and I was wondering if I could just rent the game, install it, and then once I return it I could be able to play?

Sorry to hear you're having issues with your downloading.

If you haven't already, I would definitely recommend trying the steps in our
Poor Streaming Quality troubleshooter. It has a couple of suggestions based on your setup.

Please try and carry out a console hard reset by pressing and holding the power button on the front of the console for 5-10 seconds once the console has shut down unplug it from the power for a few a few minuted then plug everything back in and try again.

 

If you'd actually read my post above, you'd see that I have already tried all the recommended "fixes" for this issue, and none of them worked.

 

I would then suggest you try speaking to your internet provider, I am downloading stuff on my console right now and it is downloading pretty quickly so I'm not sure the issue is at Microsofts end.

 

Have you checked that the ports are forwarded on your home router? Xbox One Network Ports | Xbox Live Network Ports

Are you connected wirelessly? If so, I'd check:

- what 802.11 standard you are connected with

- check if you can connect to 5GHz instead of 2.5GHz if possible

- Check interference on your WiFi channel. I use this app from the Windows 10 Store and it works great: Get WiFi Analyzer - Microsoft Store

If wired, run a network test from the console and let us know what numbers it says you're pulling from Xbox Live, as well as the numbers from a test on the Xbox One Edge browser at fast.com.

 

I have the same problem - download speeds are awful. The only way I found to increase the speed was to pause the download, and then in-pause it again every so often - it would at least treble the download speed.

My experience of this was from a brand new Xbox One, downloading Gears 4. Cabled connection to my router, 80MB fibre service. I still have this issue now, and that on updates to anything I have installed.

The only thing I haven't tried is dropping my Xbox One IP address into my DMZ. Might be worth a shot for you; you wouldn't have to set up port forwarding.
