Discus and support Horrible customer service in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; I would equate the issue of getting a refurb the same as buying a car.     I would equate the issue of getting a refurb the same as buying a car. If I go to the dealership and they tell me that you can spend $30,000 on a brand new car or you can spend $30,000 on the same car but used and it has a few more miles and it broke once
    before, but it's ok because we fixed it..........

    And I'm well aware that satellite internet is bad, but that's the only option I have. My xbox should still work when not connected to the internet. (Provided it has all the current updates. Which it does.)

    Your car analogy has nothing to do with the situation. It's more like buying a new car, then returning to the dealership a year later demanding that they replace the car with a brand new one off the lot because you claim that the brakes never worked. As
    a company, you're not going to give someone a brand new product in exchange for one they've been using for the last 8 months.

    Actually I bought a car a few years back that was under full warranty. First it had transmission problems and then it had issues with the ECM after about 10,000 miles. They gave me the same model car that was brand new. It all depends on what type of CUSTOMER
    SERVICE you get when you deal with a company.

    If they are going to replace the console, then Demand a New replacement OP, as refurbs aren't worth a plug nickel. (Been there, done that)

    Also, if you send in for repairs. They'll keep it for weeks at a time. And when you finally get it back, it won't have much warranty time left on it. So if it breaks again, you're most likely out of luck.

    GG: the same risk is involved when you buy a brand-new product. OP found out the hard way that there are defective consoles that slip on a production line and computer based quality assurance isn't all that flawless. Not like human based QA (used for repairing
    defective products) is perfect either but at least they'll go the extra mile to make sure the product works as advertised. This I believe.

    Now if you or OPie believe that you can't trust the company to do you right when they sell consoles at a loss and rely on customer's good will to make their business profitable, that's another matter altogether that doesn't come to this discussion. OPIe
    was given a choice and he chose to forgoe it. There's little anyone of us can do to aid him, making this conversation pointless.

    OP, I call BS on your car story..... if a vehicle is under warranty the dealer will repair it, not replace it; hence warranty. Especially if it had 10000 miles on it. Transmissions and ECU's are fixable, it does not warrant a new car.

    I am a service manager and deal with warranty everyday..... trust me...

    Call it whatever you want. I'm not here to debate about my car. I'm on here to say that I am not satisfied with the customer service I received from Microsoft. I don't want help or advice, I asked if there is any way to file a customer service complaint
    and they told me to go on the forum, so I did.

    If your car company actual replaced a year old car, then you got extremely lucky. I call BS As well though.

    As far as support and complaints go though, you were lied to and you're only wasting your time here. This is a community forum and nobody from MS is going to read your complaint.
