Hooking up a High quality audio set up

Hey, I have about 20 hours into searching higher quality personal xbox one audio set ups and have ordered a Beyerdynamic Amp and Headphone set up. My original thought was to order an AntLion Mod Mic to attach to the headphones and then use the xbox controller
adapter to play the mic off of while the headphone amp ran off of the analog outputs of my TV avoiding a DAC to convert the optical out on the xbox. While I don't mind the whole DAC thing, I haven't been able to configure the mic and the headphone to be able
to chat. The problem I am running into is that the controller mic input mutes the chat over the tv audio when it's in use. So, my friends can hear me, but I can't hear them. Does any one know of either another mic pass through (because of the amp) or a higher
impedance version of the Astro Mix amp pro that would create a seamless audio and chat system? Some of the solutions I found online have been hilarious at best.

Yes, I'm currently using an HDMI cable it is a high speed Belkan 6 ft cable, and I don't think it is the problem. I'm also going to set my Xbox to 1080p and try that instead. I also have the a/v cable for te Xbox and will try hooking it up, although I do
believe the quality will go down significantly.

 

audio set up

I have a Sony STR-DH820 receiver and when I switch the hdmi setting to 7.1 uncompressed I lose my subs. They work with the stereo uncompressed setting. I don't understand why I would lose my subs. They also work fine with the xbox 360 and everything else
hooked up to my receiver.

I experienced the same issue and have a less than stellar limited work around. If you are wanting to add more power to your headset, one solution is to amplify the output signal from the controller between the headset and the controller but, not ideal.
It seems some choices were made that were not in the best interest of the consumer.

I use the Modmic with the Sennheiser HD650 and have just ended up plugging in directly to the controller via a headphone/mic splitter and then into the chat adapter when playing with friends or online for the sake of convenience. I may do some further experimenting
in the near future.
