    Hooking satellite cable up to my xbox one


    I am trying to hook my DirecTV satellite service up to my xBox One as suggested iiin the installlation instructions but when I select "Live TV"" I get the following error code:

    0x800401fd

    I followed the instructions and went to xbox.com/errorhelp and submitted the code into the field provided. I received an error back tellling me that no article existed for that error code. I tried various combinationis of the abovoe error code just in
    case but got the same error message from the error database. Can anyone help me with:

    1.) whet the above code means.

    2.) How to fix the problem?

    I would appreciate any help rendered.

    Setup with AV Receiver

    It might be possible to run an optical from TV to A/V receiver and set TV to external speakers. Obviously, the HDMI in is designed to be used with a cable/satellite box. I wouldn't recommend hooking up your Xbox One in between your receiver and your display.

    Trouble hooking up xbox with HDMI

    I'm having trouble hooking my new xbox 360 s up with hdmi. I'm running HDMI from xbox

    to onkyo receiver and HDMI out from onkyo receiver to Pioneer Kuro TV. This is the same setup for my blu ray player and satellite - no problems with either. No video or

    audio for xbox. I've confirmed that xbox works by hooking up with components directly to another TV (not through a receiver). I switched HDMI cables - still no audio/video. Any help? Thanks!

    How do you have it hooked up? I have my hooked up as the following

    TV/Satellite Receiver HDMI Out > Xbox One Satellite In

    Xbox One HDMI Out > Receiver HDMI Port

    Receiver Out > TV

    Does your receiver support HDMI sound, not just video?

    Xbox one X wont turn on.

    Do you have the right HDMI hooked up? The Xbox One family of consoles has both a HDMI In and Out. Make sure you are using HDMI Out, because HDMI In is for use with a cable/satellite box.

    Can I view TV On My Xbox One without a Cable or Satellite connected?

    I'm not an admin, but I can confidently tell you you'll not be able to watch TV without cable or satellite. The way it works, is you have a cable box and run that to your Xbox One. Then you run your Xbox one to your TV. Basically your cable transfers
    through you cable box > xbox one > your TV. If you don't have cable and a cable box hooked up you won't be able to watch TV.

    I bought both but I had the Xbox One on preorder since June. The PS4 I decided to get the day after it launched, just to say that I got one lol. I don't even have it hooked up to cable/satellite. I run my Apple TV through it at the moment and thats just
