Honestly... How Important is Resolution to Xbox Players?

I personally wouldn't mind games running at 720p when playing my base Xbox One as long as the game looks good, you don't need 1080p or 4k resolution to look good. I would rather have pop-ins be less noticeable and games having a smoother framerate then trying
to get the highest resolution the console could output. Maybe have more visual settings in games, like what PC has been doing all along; even if it was dumbed down for console it would be a step forward. Would like to hear if this is a general consensus or
am I alone on this?

30 fps vs 60 fps

Yes FPS is important. Resolution isnt. Destiny at 30FPS is so clunky and slow.

 

I agree with you. Resolution is not what matters: good gameplay and a great story has more value than pixels.

 

You're not alone. I don't mind lower resolution, but I personally do prefer a higher resolution.

I definitely don't mind lower resolution to a degree (don't want to be playing super low res obviously). I value great gameplay and story over everything else. This whole "4k rulezzz" thing is way ridiculous in my opinion. Yes it's nice to have great resolution,
but if the game is crap who cares how good it looks?

 

I agree. I'd rather have a very smooth 720p experience and at best a very smooth 1080p experience. However, once you get into the 1080p and 4k stuff, its like, are you playing the game or looking for pixels? Because if the game is good, I probably would
not even notice the resolution at all.

What the size of you TV? i have a 55" and less than 1080 make me fell like 2 generations in the past.

Agreed! Resolution is not everything, look at Minecraft. That is one of the most popular games in the world, and is as ugly as it gets. I still have several hundred hours into it, playing both in my own world, and helping my son in his. Game content like
story, customization, crafting, building, exploring, social aspects, and such will always drive a game further than graphical polish. That being said, I do love the beautiful games too. Assassin's Creed with it's panoramic synchronization vistas, or the
Tomb Raider games with all of the intricate landscape detail. It is great to be a gamer these days!

 

i prefer a higher resolution very much but if causes the gameplay to be worse I choose gameplay over resolution
