Honest opinion

Hi all

Can someone post their utter honest opinion on Titanfall. Looking to upgrade to xbone from 360 and the hype around this game makes it appealing but after the news around Microsoft paying people for good reviews and what not I need a real persons opinion.

Please be honest - is it really as amazing as Microsoft make out.

Honest opinions required

I consider myself to be very analytical and methodical. I have tried MANY different techniques and load-outs and this is what I've learned, patience pays off (but not camping unless you wanna get stabbed in the back). Staying focused on an enemy even when
it feels like you might lose a battle is VERY important. I used to spray from side to side and I was getting OWNED like a mug! Now when I go toe to toe I will focus on my target and try my best to get a head shot. Choosing the correct weapons, perks and equipment
that's suited to your game style is CRUCIAL! I typically run with the first light machine gun (I forget what it's called) with a variable zoom (which basically turns it into an automatic sniper but without the sway) and the KAP-40. I will switch to my KAP-40
and run (using the lightweight and extreme conditioning perks) to a spot, throw down some betties, and scan my sector for targets. If I don't see anything I will pick up my betties and move to another spot. If I find a spot with some action I will get some
kills then move on. I used to just rush in to a fight, but now I slow down and take my time. I look at the mini map a lot. If I don't see any friendlies around that means that I should expect to be surrounded pretty soon and I start looking for enemies. I
thought that since I played all the other COD games before that I would know exactly what needs to be done. But this game DOES feel different than the others. Assuming that it handles and plays like the other COD games is a big mistake. i would approach it
as if you were playing it for the first time and throw out what you've done in other COD games and find what works best for BO2...

Absolutely. I was blown away after playing the alpha and I'm dieing to get in the beta.

 

It's ok. I really want to like Titan. I played for 2 hrs last night.

Imagine everyone using the same assault or support streak in cod, the Titan. Everyone gets a Titan, it doesn't matter how you're playing. In some games you get 3 or 4. You don't get a lot of kills either. You would think you could get a lot of kills as
a Titan but the other teams titans can take you down pretty fast.

In cod I can sometimes get to my helo pilot maybe 30+ kills. In Titan playing domination I was getting around 7.

Graphics are really good.

 

It is awesome. I can't wait for the final product. Day one buy.

 

I love it and this is only the beta, can't wait for the full release...

 

I'm one who when I first saw this game I was not hyped for it- looked like another shooter with mechs implemented. The game has a lot of other games blended together and that's not a bad thing.

1. since it's mod war 1/2 devs the hit detection is spot on. I always preferred the modern warfare aka infinity ward series due to this. Much better for people who actually aim.

2. Pacing is how who would expect from a twitch shooter- it's fast! But with that said like Andrew mentioned you don't get many kills. That could have something to do with player count- you can get 20+ minion kills easy(bots). Notice though I only have been
able to try tdm so far. Add me if you want more detail later.

3. My favorite aspect that makes me like this game. Most games cater to one type of player. Treyarch games catered to run and gun no aim shooting. Original mod war games favored aiming and posting up.

Titanfall does not seem to really favor any style- well camping helps you. But you can run and gun if you want- can post up- can use the Titan yourself or set it to roam and you can do good either way

One game I go in Titan and do work. Some I stayed out and just had it roaming depending on situation of game/map.

IMHO, It's ok. I'm going to wait and see what other modes/features Titanfall has before I buy it. I played the beta for a few hours today and got bored, but I'm getting bored with all the FPS's as it is.

 

The overall feeling from here other places seems that it is just OK.

 

This genre of game (Halo, spaceshooters, mech etc. etc.) is not my kind of games but I have to say, this game is pretty freaking cool. The graphics and gameplay are about as tight as you can get, the graphics are really outstanding. Bells and whistles wise
it's a little barebones but it's only a beta so no big deal.

So overall, I'd say a 4.5 out of 5.

 

It doesn't really help you, it just means you see less action because the game is that fast paced the action can change from one part of the map to another quite quickly, with no specific part of the map being favoured (which is great). It certainly won't help
you once people learn the maps a bit better for all the little nooks and crannies either.

 

Awesome game, could not put it down last night. Played at least 5 hours straight until I max leveled.

Love the pilot and titan load outs and the unlocking/progression.

Something about the game was very satisfying. Looking forward to the final game.

 

Over all great game loving the beta. I thought that the Titan would be over powered but with smart game play they can be taken down easily enough. Love the balance of pilot and titan

 

In short - yes. The game is redefining the FPS genre on the Xbox platform.

This game is a system seller. Get it.
