Meh. Still waiting on them to do TimeSplitters 4.

 

As Homefront was dire it begs the question "why?"

 

the 1st was ok, but was hyped to much ! so left a little disappointed from it but welcome a sequel !

Yup, the unwarranted self-victimisation fantasies in a lot of FPSes makes them pretty unpalatable.

However this game might be salvageable if it features a CoD4 Chernobyl style mission where you have to scalp Kim Jong Un by his crap hitler youth haircut.

 

I didn't play the first one but I know of it very well. So long as they can promise future support past what the first game got, I'm a happy chappy and will pick this up. If memory serves, the game had its servers shut off right? After the company went bankrupt?

 

Crytek bought the rights to Homefront when THQ went bump. They closed the servers down for the original game which was a shame because it had some of the best multiplayer out there. You can still party up in a private lobby and there are quite a few of us
that still do on a regular basis.

If the new game is anywhere close to the original it will be awesome. You can pick up the original for next to nothing and I would recommend it for it's campaign alone.

 

Actually enjoyed the first one, the single player was ok if a little bit short but I thought the online multilayer was excellent.

 

Its a shame Cytec don't open up the multiplayer for the original, they might get a few players wanting to play the original in preparation for the sequel. Wouldn't of thought it would cost them much but I'm no expert

 

Thanks for the added info there. Yeah I think it would be nice if they opened it up. They upset a fair few people when they closed them down. I never played it myself but it looked really good from what I saw.

 

i had the first one 2 weeks early after winning a competition on here to go and play it at an event in london.

Really enjoyed it but it was plagued with bugs and 'beacon' issues

 

Yeah, the first one was a buggy mess of broken netcode for a long time.

I kinda got into it again for a while when the multiplayer portion popped up free on OnLive.

 

Whats a beacon issue buddy? Is that spawn point or something bro?

Metal, it was just the multiplayer I saw too. I loved how it went birdseye view to 1st person after each death. I know its just a transition but it was cool.
