Home Xbox won't let me play one game online

I have my Series X set as my Home Xbox. I have launched Halo MCC while online several times. I own it through Game Pass. However, when I hit the button to "Go Offline" in the Network Settings tab (visiting family with strict data cap), it tells me I need to have the Xbox set as my home Xbox in order to play MCC.

However, Dying Light had no such issues. I do own Dying Light digitally.

I have seen people replying to similar questions simply saying "you must go into Offline Mode before playing without an Internet connection in order to play your games" but this is clearly not the case. Are Game Pass games simply an exception to the Home Xbox rule? If so, Xbox certainly needs to make sure this is properly conveyed to Xbox users and especially Game Pass subscribers. As of now, it simply appears as if it's just another glitch.

Well it depends on which game you are talking about within mcc

Dying light is single player

If you mean reach or odst those are multiplayer only

Unless you paid for the campaign modes

Social and forge and multiplayer modes require online access anything that requires waypoint

Spartan ops is online only as it's ream based part of halo 4

Any dllc other then the main games are multiplayer maps

Those require online access including coop

The main games do have maps

So if you are doing anything other main games like co-op or multiplayer or firefight ir Spartan ops and forge then no those require online access

I think my Xbox one is defective also because it won't let me connect to xbox live and it says my WiFi is good and it won't let me play games online at all. My Xbox One if defected!!

I bought a game from the Xbox store online and It won't let me play without wifi on my Xbox 360 or One

We have it set as home xbox but it still won't let me play the games unless he is signed in

Yeah its pretty [Mod Removed Profanity] stupid to say "you can play games offline on your 'home xbox'" ive set my home xbox countless times and even tried setting it to a different xbox and back again but still cant play my games offline.
Disc games work fine but any game ive bought off the store tells me i cant play it offline unless im on my home xbox, which i always am. Never used to have this problem either like 2 months ago so theyve just released some sort of update that has broken the
store (big surprise, yet again)

Would be nice if literally one of the features microsoft showboats about actually functioned in the slightest. Literally been ripped off like $300 at least unless i have permanent internet connection. What is the point of the home xbox feature if it just
means you dont get to use anything you own
