Home Xbox won’t let me play offline

I have my Xbox set to home, I’ve done it multiple times and checked. But as soon as I start playing a game and Xbox disconnects from the internet, it kicks me out of the game and says I need internet. The game in question is RDR2 and I purchased it digitally, it is not from game pass or anything, I paid money, Why does this keep happening?

You should be able to play Red Dead Redemption story mode offline. After making the console your Home Xbox, try to go offline on the console before disconnecting from the Internet. Go to Settings >>> Network >>> Go offline.

I’ve tried that, the Xbox is my home Xbox but when I press go offline and try to launch the game it pops up saying check connection

You mentioned you purchased RDR2...did you purchase both RDR2 Online and RDR2 Story? Story is a DLC component to RDR2 Online. And Online will need an internet connection. Apologies if this seems like a silly question to ask but not everyone realises that RDR2 has 2 separate components...nor do they realise that you have to buy RDR2 Online to play the Story (single player) mode
