Home Xbox when is it set?

Is the home xbox designation set when you sign into an xbox one for the first time during the initial set up? Or do you set it yourself later? Also is there a way to see how many home xbox's you have set previously? Thanks for your help

Won't let me set my Xbox one as my home xbox

basically my Xbox is not letting me play any game unless i set it to not my home Xbox when it is my home Xbox, any suggestions?

Xbox Home Gold Sharing problem

Hi ChefBoyRDzNuts!

To clear it up. You need to assign your account on his console as the home xbox. When you're signed in on his console then go to the home xbox settings. It will show you that "This is not my home Xbox", then when you click it, it will then be your home xbox.
That's already set and everything should work fine.

The 1st profile ever signed into the console will automatically be assigned as My Home Xbox.

You will give a notification on screen on how many switches you have left with your My Home Xbox assignment.

You can only have 5 switches within a one-year period.

The home console feature is meant to be used in households with more than one xbox one,not for sharing with your friends which can technically get you banned.

you can't set the 3 xbox as home xbox, only one of them, when you set the second as home xbox, the other loses that setting

You get more chances to set home Xbox after a few months I believe, but if you use the profile you're setting the Xbox as home Xbox on then you don't need to set home Xbox, when you sign into an account it acts as if the Xbox its signed into is currently the home Xbox.

I did have another Xbox One set as the home Xbox for this account, but it seems to have somehow lost its home Xbox status. I'm not sure when, since I'm usually logged in and just noticed the issue when trying to set my Xbox One X as my home Xbox. Now when
I check on that Xbox One, it just has the "set as home Xbox" option, which of course fails with the same message.
