Home xbox problem

Hello everyone. So i have basically a problem with our family account. I, and two of my cousins use the family account to download; buy and play sometimes on it. We don't use it as a main account; we all have our own account so by the way we all made it
as Home xbox to play offline and the other stuffs. But recently when i turn on my xbox; it tells me to enter the password; after that; when i check to personalization it appears that the account family is not recorded as Home xbox. So i made it home xbox and
all the journey it worked nice. When i sleeped and awoke, the same problem had come around, so i did the same thing; but after 3 times it sayed that i have reached the limit blah blah. I dont't know why it started all of a sudden to remove it as home xbox.
I never had this kind of problem before so i hope you can help me to fix it

Sorry to hear it. What will need to happen is that your friend will need to call phone support and request a reset of the Home option. Support may be able to do this for him.

So first let me explain to you how the Home xbox system works.

1. No matter what console a profile is signed into it will always be able to play its games and use any of its subscriptions. As long as that console either

A. Is set as its home console

B. If the console is not set as its Home console then it has to be online

2. Each profile can switch which console it has set as its home console FIVE times a year after that fifth time the last console it has set as its home console will then be its home console till the next
year.

3. You can only have ONE console at a time set as a profiles home console

So what I have gathered from your post possibly happened is this

1. You set your console as the main profiles home console played some games. Time 1

2. Your cousin then went in and tried playing some games and it probably told him that he couldnt play them and to sign in with the profile that purchased them in order to play them so he went in and switched
his console to that profiles home console. Time 2

3. You went to sleep and woke up and noticed that you couldnt play the games so set your console back as the main profiles home console. Time 3

and so on till you reached your 5 time limit.

This is what I am assuming happened from what you had posted.

so if you are getting the you have reached the 5 time limit

you can try and contact xbox support by going to support.xbox.com/contact-us and see if they may be able to reset that home xbox counter for you Can not guarantee that they will but you can try.

another thing that you can keep in mind is this

you can have multiple accounts signed in at the same time on a console and as long as the main account is signed in at the same time you would be able to play their games and use their subscriptions without
the console being the home console and the players on the home console can also play that main profiles games without that main profile being signed in.

 

Do you and the cousins only play on ONE SINGLE console, or are your cousins use different consoles?

If so, is it possible, that your cousins set a different console as the Home Console? As long as someone has access to your "family" account, they can set any console as that account's Home Console, which removes the Home Console setting from all other consoles,
as there can only be one Home Console for an account.

That also means, that if you have more than two consoles, your system of "sharing" games with each cousin doesn't work.

One specific Home Console can unlock the games for everyone on that specific console, and the second person can play the games on a second console as long as the "Family" account is signed in and online on that console.

If a third person wants to play a game on a third console, and they sign in with the Family account, the second person gets signed out, as the Family account can only be signed in on one single console of the same generation at the same time (e.g. they can
be signed in on a Xbox 360, a Xbox One and a Windows 10 PC at the same time, but they can't be signed in on two Xbox One consoles at the same time).

So to sum it up:

With one family account and one Home console, only two people can ever play a shared game. If more than two people are supposed to play, another person has to buy a second copy.

So at the very beggining; me and my cousin were the only dudes playing. An other of my cousin got an xbox so naturally we gave him the account and the problems started there. I think that it arrived because of what you have explained. Thanks; i'll try
