Home XBox Issue

Recently i've been having issues where I turn my XBox One on and everything looks normal, but every time I try to start a game it tells me I need to be online to use it. If the game happens to be installed to my internal rather then one of my externals,
it then tells me I need to make it my home XBox to play it. I've only had a single home XBox and it is the one i've been playing on since the systems day one launch. I've signed in at a friends house to play there, but always sign out before I leave and have
never set it to home on his system. I try to set it on my own XBox one and it won't let me because some stupid limitation of changing it so many times in a year. Anyway, a hard reset seems to fix the issue with letting me play games, but its still annoying
and doesn't change the fact that its telling me I can't change my Home XBox.

Hi, if you're having problems with the Home Xbox setting it's best to call Xbox phone support, they may be willing to check and reset the Home Xbox feature on your account.

 

I don't even think its just the Home. When it does it it usually shows me signed in, everything looks fine, I can see my friends, and connection test work, yet it still tells me I need to be online. Sometime the "connect to XBox Live logo will be on the
side. I'd rather not call XBox as I always get some clueless Indian I can't understand that is unable to answer anything off their script.

 

In that case try simply signing out of and back into your account on the Xbox, if that doesn't help try removing and adding your account back to the Xbox.

 

I have a question for you okay. Are you signed into the latest preview update or in the preview program? If so it's best to report it as a issue and post in the preview forums.

There is a limit on home consoles set per year, but if you haven't, try reaching out to
phone support and see what assistance they can provide to you.
