Home Xbox issue

Today I wanted to make my personal Xbox my home Xbox, when I select the button to make it my home Xbox I receive a message that states “Too many people have made this their home Xbox, to make this your home Xbox, have someone else sign in and remove it
as their home Xbox.” . I signed in to the two other xboxs that had been my home Xbox and removed them as my home Xbox. I also had logged in to the Microsoft website and removed all consoles from my device list. Then I even factory reset my console and after
all of that I still receive the same message as before.

I have a question for you okay. Are you signed into the latest preview update or in the preview program? If so it's best to report it as a issue and post in the preview forums.

It mean too many other people have made your Xbox their home Xbox. So it sounds like your profile is fine, other accounts need to be removed from the console.

 

You have it the wrong way around.

You had too many friends visiting your console that set your console as their Home Console.

Removing these accounts won't help.

One (or more) of your other friends have to sign into their own consoles and set these back as their Home Console. You need to contact your friends that share games with you and ask them to "un-share" their games to your console by setting a different Home
Console than yours.

There is a limit how many different people can share their games on your console.

 

so you are saying that even though they had un shared with me already that they now have to make their Own Xbox their home ?

 

What do you mean they "un-shared"?

The only way to "share" to you is to make your console their Home Console.

A lot of people get the wrong impression that "sharing" on the Xbox is automatically a two way share. So if you "share" with someone by setting their console as your Home Console, most people think, that as soon as they make another console their Home Console,
the "sharing" relationship ends.

This is not the case.

There is no "sharing" mechanic on Xbox that works along the lines "I give you my games, and you give me your games at the same time".

There is only ONE method, that goes "I give my games to ONE console that I choose. Whatever else you do is up to you. You can share your games to my console as well, if you want, or not. If you don't give me your games, it's okay, and you can still play
my games for as long as I chose to not change the Home Console."

So yes, in order to "make room" for another friend to share to your console, at least one of your other friends has to move their Home Console setting AWAY from your console.
