Home Xbox gold sharing problems

so my little brother plays online games through my xbox live by the gold sharing feature involved in setting home xbox. Recently he went away for a few weeks so i moved my home xbox to be used elsewhere; then when he returned he got on to play some Fortnite
as kids in this generation do and i moved home xbox back and he tried to get on. The problem is it told him he needs to get gold even though he should be sharing mine. So seeking answers i came here and checked to see if the terms of home xbox had changed
but sure enough it still says he should get my benefits. Does anyone know why this isn't the case?

There are several things you need to check:

When signed in on your account,
check on this page here, if your Gold subscription is still active.

If it is, go to the settings of the console, and under Personalization check if it really reads that this console is your Home Console.

Try to play an online multiplayer game yourself. Are you able to play online?

If your brother still gets an error message, also check if he "can see and upload community creations" in his account's online and privacy settings (if he is on a child account, a parent has to set that on
Sign in to your Microsoft account ).

Also, if he is under the age of 13, you might also try to contact Epic Games support, as they restrict Epic Accounts that are under the age of 13 for Fortnite.

I've had this problem to were my home Xbox would share gold to other accounts. I changed the home Xbox recently and waited a day and the issues cleared up. Gold was shared.

I think I see the problem. The only account that is sharing is your Son's account since he is on your home console. Your account is on your daughter's but it's not your home console so it wont share. Does your family have a main Xbox they use? If so, I think
they will all have to play on that console for Gold to share.

For comparison my set up is:

Xbox 1X (Main):

My Account- With Gold

Spouse account - Without Gold (HOME)

Gold is shared if I am logged in

Xbox One(2)

My Account- WIth Gold (HOME)

Spouse account - WIthout Gold

Gold is shared without me logged in

Hi ChefBoyRDzNuts!

To clear it up. You need to assign your account on his console as the home xbox. When you're signed in on his console then go to the home xbox settings. It will show you that "This is not my home Xbox", then when you click it, it will then be your home xbox.
That's already set and everything should work fine.
