Home Xbox and Game Sharing with a Disc

Hello,

I was wondering if it is possible to own two copies of a game, one physical and one digital, and play them on two separate Xbox One consoles.

Here's the catch:

I would like to have another player use their account to play my account's digital copy on my home Xbox, while I play the physical copy on a different Xbox console.

I am concerned that having my account playing the physical copy on the other Xbox may prevent them from playing the digital copy on my home Xbox (on their account).

Ideally, the Xbox would recognize that I am using the physical copy and
not my digital copy, and therefore allow somebody else using my home Xbox to play my digital copy, allowing us to play together.

If we would not be able to play together under these circumstances, I will need to come up with a new plan to avoid having to buy three copies of a game for two people.

Disc games can not be game shared. They require the disc to be in system to be played.

Digital games are what can be game shared via this method.

More or less go to settings, Personalization set home xbox.

You want to set your SONS home to your daughters system, and your daughters home to your sons. Then all games will be playable on both systems.

Not sure if game pass can be shared but if you have xbox live gold you would only need one subscription on the xbox you designate as "Home" disc is easy to share so long as the disc is in the xbox that will be playing the game any user can play the game
freely because it is a disc. Downloaded is different and can be done the profile of the person who downloaded the digital game has to be on the same xbox with the person trying to play the digital game which is game sharing.

If you are playing on the digital and a friend is playing on physical it should be just fine. ;D

Me and my bro game share by setting our xbox's as each others home xbox, we only buy one copy (digital) of the game and we get to play with each other, im sure you're idea should work fine!

No issue! I game share with my brothers, and when I am on my own Xbox, I can play the same game that they're playing, even without having two copies. Part of why my family's Xbox is set as my home console is so we can do that.
