Home Xbox account issue

I traded in my Xbox one today to game stop for the new Xbox one s and I can't make my account my home Xbox because it was set to be the home Xbox on the old console

Game sharing dilemma

Okay here's the issue I am currently facing. Big storm just went through, wiped out the Internet for the time being.

I am sharing the games with my nephew, I of course am buying most of them. My account, is set on his Xbox, as its home, and his account is set to home for my Xbox.

The issue is when you don't have Internet access. Since my Xbox is using his account for its home account I can only play the games he has downloaded, which like I said is only 2 games that I don't play anymore. But his Xbox is able to play all the games I've downloaded cause my account is set to his home.

So yea, you can't play any games you've paid for if your sharing your account and you're offline, kinda sucks I really wanted to play some witcher 3

. And also you can't change who your home Xbox is while offline

Sharing gold membership between accounts on xbone

How can you tell if an account is the primary account? I know these are total noob questions I've only had my xbone for like 2 months.Click to expand... No problem. Using your account, you have to set the xbox as your home console. The first account you registered to the system the xbox will be attached to it as the home console.

You should be able to designate the new console as your "Home" console through the Xbox settings,

with these steps.

There is a limit of three changes of the Home setting allowed per yearly period (rolling basis).

Having the same issue, I reset the adult account home console and the removed the child home console settings multiple times, neither seems to make a difference. I have other accounts on the same xbox that can get on to xbox live with no issues, they are
not family accounts though.

Hi again. I've managed to resolve my issue with xbox support chat. Who talked me thru..

Setup

Upstairs sons account set as home. Then signed in my account

Downstairs sign in on my account then sons account set as home.

Set home xbox on same account on both consoles.

I was setting as home on different accounts.

Just like to thank all that contributed to help resolve my issue. This is my 1st time using community support. And was a pleasure . Many thanks and Happy gaming

But you can only have 1 Home Xbox designated to an account. So my console is my home Xbox, I couldn't also have her Xbox1 designated as my Home account...wouldn't that create issues when I was playing on my console?

Just to be clear. The parent account is designated as the home Xbox account. All the kids were added on as additional users. You redeemed the trial to the parent account? The same account as the Home Xbox account. How long is the trial? Trials can be limited
so that could be the issue.
