Thank you for the update. Try out the following solutions:

Go ahead and do a
hard reset and power cycle. Hold down the power button on the console for about 10 seconds until it shuts down and then remove the power cable from the Xbox and the power outlet for about 5 minutes. Then re-connect and
turn on the Xbox.

If that doesn't help then you will need to try out a
soft factory reset.

1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
2. Select System > Settings > System > Console info.
3. Select Reset console.

Make sure to select "Keep my games & apps" and have the correct email and passwords for all of the profiles plus your WIFI password ready if you connect wireless because you will need to re-add all of the account's that were on the Xbox and re-connect to
your network during the reset.

Sorry to hear you're having trouble with your controllers. There could be many reasons why you're having trouble with the controllers ranging from their age (if they've been used frequently) or if there's dirt under the Dpad (you can try lightly wiping the area with a small amount of rubbing alcohol using a qtip).

However, I have seen a similar issue in the past only once where someone was having their controllers run all the way left or right. In that case it turned out that somehow the frequencies between the two controllers were interfering with each other.

They needed to remove the batteries from one controller and try using the other to find it worked

I'm sorry to hear that you've tried that and still having issues. At this point, you may need to send in your console for repair, which is in-warranty if it is only 5 months old. I recommend further troubleshooting with Xbox customer support to talk over

When it comes to game updates, that is up to game developers.

Microsoft doesn't control if a game will have one, or big they will be.

If you don't want to update games before playing them, then choose update later. Keep in mind that if you do this then you'll have to play offline until the game is updated.

Thats the problem, I cannot select any other profile. It does not let me change what the selection is, which is typically add a guest. In that instance, you have to press it like 4 times before it will even do that
