Home screen refresh, game lag, controller issues, restarting

Around about a month ago or so, I started to experience troubles with the Xbox One:

Home screen:

Not very often, but the home screen would constantly refresh and the only way to stop is to turn off the console

Game lag:

When playing games (offline) the game would sometimes lag for about half a second. It doesn't cause any real problems for me, and I can deal with it, but it is something abnormal that has been happening lately.

Controller issues:

The controller will disconnect at random times, and just become unresponsive other times (like the controller is constantly sending the Xbox the last command you sent it for about 30 seconds. So, for example, if you're driving in GTA, you're going to hit
something and you can't do anything about it). It can happen as often as once every hour or so or 15 times in 10 minutes. It will do this while wired to the Xbox or wireless. I've even bought a brand new controller thinking maybe my controller was just going
bad (this was the first issue to pop up) and right out of the box this controller has the same issue.

Restarting:

This has only happened once, but the console completely restarted during the middle of game play. It has also only once signed me off of my account during game play.

Troubleshooting:

Hard reset.

Making sure the console is plugged directly into the wall and not a surge protector (At the advice of chat support)

Absolutely everything on the controller troubleshooting page.

Complete reset to factory settings of the console.

I've seen many people posting about this controller issue, but not that it's been tied to anything else. So here's my experience. What can I do?

well i am notorious for walking by the xb1 controller hitting button and laying in bed... usually i do this once i am in netflix/amazon. well the last few days i tried this from the home screen.

all i can say is the delay/lag is horrible... navigating the home screen to get into a program is very poop.. it may just be a fluke but it also seems to throw off connecting to apps like nfl,netflix. i have gotten many connection errors and boots when trying to login with the smartglass app.. not sure if it is due to router being a home and trying to show 2 connections or what..

once in netflix it is back to normal so i am wondering if it is a xb1/app issue..

Update: The controllers no longer will connect the the console, either wired or wireless, leaving the console utterly useless and an expensive paperweight.

 

Lets try a power cycle hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds until power off then unplug the console and power brick from the wall. Wait about 5 minutes an then start plugging everything back in turn the console on.

I've done that too. Just did it again. No change.

 

Okay lets reset the console but lets keep all the games installed. You'll probably have too redo the initial start up but that is an assumption. You'll also might need to re-download the profile you mainly use.

 

As stated above, already attempted, did not work.

 

Heh I don't think troubleshooting will work it may be a internal problem. But before i'm sure of this how much storage is on your hard drive currently if it's a minimum of 20 gb then it should run fine any higher would run perfectly lets also run some performance

There is 126.6 GB free. The internet connection is better than the minimum, but the internet connection is not the issue, as I'm not even using it to play my games.

 

Lets try removing some items Apps, Games etc just try too increase the internal storage at least to 20 gb or higher. And internet connection could be a problem. If your experiencing issues while connectivity to the Xbox it may limit how you access it.

 

The internal storage is already 100 GB more than what you want, as I've stated.

 

I apologies i didn't read the number properly. Just checking are you in the preview program and is your console up to date with updates etc? If it isn't updated or hasn't properly installed an update i'd check back in your settings and see if you can re-download
the update. And if you are in the preview program i'd post there too get further info.

 

I'm not a part of the preview program and the console was successfully updated on April 30th.

 

I'd assume it's a technical error as stated in my earlier reply. I'd check with a local retailer to see if they could speculate the issue it seems like they would be the best bet at the moment.

I apologies that i could not provide much help, since basic troubleshooting does not work i had to suggest this. And it could be possible another user will reply to this thread a mod a official Xbox support representative. I will keep an eye out on this
thread just in case.
