home page locking up whole system for minutes

hitting the home xbox button to open message or unsnapping or anything else runs the risk of locking up the whole system, sometimes for a couple minutes or more. i am not able to do anything till the system decides to get itself unstuck and if i was playing
a game i am now afk till the gets unstuck or i turn off the system. i can only hope this issue will be resolved in the future as it is making my xbox experience very frustrating.

and while i am at it accessing messages is a real downgrade then it was on the 360. instead of a small window that you can open and close quickly the xbox will pull you completely out of our game to load up not only your message but the overly convoluted
friendslist app. again i can only hope that xbox will see the error of their ways and change this with a future update

Beta locking up my system

I received the beta update about two weeks ago and I don't see much change for the last update for the xbox live in addition to this my system appears to lock up more since the update has been applied. I never had this problem before the update. Is this
an issue that others are experiencing?

Try holding the power button on the console for 10 seconds until it shuts down. See if that helps with the freezing issue.
