Home Gold isn't sharing

Hi,

I just got the LE Halo 5 console. It's awesome except for one thing; My Live Gold membership doesn't share like it's supposed to. There are only two profiles on it, mine and my boyfriend's, and he can't access multiplayer in Halo. He can play the game just
fine, and I can play his. I set the xbox to be my home one, and supposedly that's all I need to do to have it shared. Under Settings -> Subscriptions it says that he needs to buy a membership. Am I missing something? We split the cost of the console and gold
membership, so we could share all this stuff, and it's just not working. Any help would be appreciated. Also, can the free req packs in Halo 5 be shared, as well? Someone (who's not me and shall remain nameless) downloaded the packs to their profile, even
though it was supposed to be under mine, and now I don't have access to them. Thanks!

trying to share my gold and it wont work

Let me get this right in my head. You have a gold account your boyfriend has silver. Your console is set to home console and both of you can do the single player campaigns on games. But your boyfriend's silver account can not go online? Correct?

Okay, so he has to have a silver account. No where in the FAQs on any of the home gold pages does it say anything about that, and I read through them all. It just says that one person gets gold, everyone else makes a profile, and they automatically have
access to it. That's why we were confused. That would be really good info to have on the sites. Thanks for the info!

So we got him the live subscription, but it still isn't working. In Halo, the multiplayer option is always grayed out when he's signed in. The funny thing is, it was working for him for about a day, and now it's not.

You could cancel the Gold membership (or let it run out) on your parent account, and have one kid that usually plays on Xbox 2 give a new Gold membership.

Then have that "Gold kid" set the Xbox 1 as their Home Console, while they play on Xbox 2.

That way your account (that isn't Gold anymore) doesn't have to be signed in on the "non-Home Console", and as the "Gold kid" is playin on Xbox 2 anyways, they will share Gold to that console, as long as they are signed in on that console, while the Home
Console sharing keeps Xbox 1 golden for everyone.

I don't think you guys fully understand what home console and sharing is

I. Order to use home gold the accounts must be registered on the home console

However they are only gold on the home console so if you go to another console or your own you cannot be gold unless you buy your own membership

Home gold only applies to one console if you change the home console the way that it isn't intended that's what happems

If your friends console has gold your account can only be gold on that console or anything console with home gold

So if your home console doesn't have gold you need to have gold

Home consoles are only intended for families not the whole neoghborhood

So if you share your content with friends your console won't have gold only your account as you gave the home gold to your friend

The "family" feature has nothing to do with sharing Xbox Live Gold.

The account that has Xbox Live Gold needs to be set as the Home Console on the Xbox console where you want the subscription to share out.

Sign into your account on your Xbox console and go to -

Settings > Personalization > My Home Xbox > See if it says Make this My home Xbox (meaning this profile is not set as the home console ) or This isn't my home Xbox (meaning that this profile is set as the home console on your Xbox)

Just go to his account and put as a my home console and you good to go

Go to settings - personalization - my home xbox .... and put his account as my home xbox . So you can share games and xbox live

That isn't quite correct. If you want to share your Gold subscription with your brother then you need to make the console YOUR Home Xbox. Once you do that, when your brother signs in to his own account on that console he can share your gold subscription
and any games you own.
