Home Console: "Can't save changes" problem

Hi,

I can't set my home console. I have 3 tries left on my account(of course if what the message says when i want set this is true- maybe it's bugged) and my friend has 4 tries left. He has same error on his console. I tried hard reset for console, factory settings,
and even unlucking developer menu in settings(unlocking with lb+rb+lt+rt on my controller) and nothing helped. I have read that changing name can help but i don't know what name. It means i need to change my name and surname on microsoft account? Or change
gamer tag that costs 10$ (I live in mid-western europe and i can't afford this price now)

Any advices? I know I can call the tech support but i don't think a can communicate with them.

Have you tried signing back in on your friends console, to make sure your profile is not still highlighted as home on their console.

Ive encountered this before when ive done it in the past

Perhaps try a factory reset & then relink to your friends console?

It's not the ideal solution but I've had to do this with my partner before & now everything works perfectly.

Me and my friend got set our accounts as home consoles for some time(it all worked well). The error appeard when i deleted his account on my xbox as home console and wanted to change for anothers friend account.Now I can't set any account on my xbox as
home console and my friend can't delete my account from home console on his xbox . Messed up

It may be a case of setting the offending gamertag back on that console to swap over the home settings back.

Hi Bartos,

When you try and change it, what is the exact error you get? Try unplugging the console completely, leave unplugged for 30 seconds and plug it back in.
